Downtown Griffin Redevelopment Plan

This past fall, Urban Collage worked with the City of Griffin, Georgia to develop a downtown redevelopment plan.  The project built upon a previously completed LCI plan through further analysis of the core redevelopment area containing two monumental boulevards.  Through an initial assessment, Urban Collage was able to identify several catalytic projects, ranging from the reuse of the historic city hall to the incorporation of new public green spaces that would serve to reinvigorate the downtown area while still maintaining its wealth of historic resources.

Spartanburg Housing Authority HOPE VI Application
November 2007 was marked in a significant way at Urban Collage with the successful completion of a HOPE VI application for the Spartanburg Housing Authority's (SHA) Woodworth Homes community.  The Urban Collage/SHA team worked with local residents and government leaders to develop an integrated plan that not only incorporates a mixed-program of single-family, duplex homes, senior residences and artist workshops; but also leverages city investments to revitalize a larger area including a commercial strip corridor and a distressed neighborhood.
