Fountain Inn Master Plan
Urban Collage is in the final stages of preparing a master plan for The City of Fountain Inn, SC that will serve as a guide for future growth, development and revitalization.  The plan focuses on developing physical and economic revitalization strategies for sustaining and improving the City’s historic downtown core and surrounding areas.  Fountain Inn is located along I-385 in Upstate South Carolina, approximately 20 miles from Greenville, SC. 
Brookhaven - Peachtree Livable Centers Initiative
Urban Collage, Inc. has recently completed a redevelopment and connectivity plan for the area surrounding the Brookhaven-Oglethorpe MARTA Station.  The plan focuses on strategies for reinvigorating Peachtree Road in DeKalb County and integrating mixed-use development and transit oriented development strategies in the area surrounding the MARTA rail station.
Rosewood Hills Design Guidelines
In order to shape the remaining components of the 2004 Rosewood Hills Master Plan, the Columbia Housing Authority (SC) asked Urban Collage to create a set of Design Guidelines for the new 20-acre mixed use development.  The guidelines detail performance and design criteria for a planned mixed use center and an integrated "seniors village."

 

 

 

 

 

 

Urban Collage Holiday Celebration and Company Retreat

Urban Collage celebrated the holiday season by sponsoring the local arts.  The Urban Collage extended family dined at MidCity Cuisine and then enjoyed a showing of the comedy “Peachtree Battle” at the Ansley Park Playhouse in Midtown Atlanta.

Urban Collage, Inc. also held its 6th annual retreat on January 26th and 27th in Chattanooga, TN at the Reed House Hotel. While in Chattanooga the Staff enjoyed a tour of the City as well as a visit to the Bluffview Arts District.

Principal Elected Georgia Planning Association (GPA) Official

Stan Harvey was elected Vice President of Chapter Services for GPA.   As VP of Chapter Services, Stan is working on developing a new GPA Website and Newsletters and improving overall Chapter Member Services for GPA.

Planner named to CDC Board of Directors

Alix Wilcox Nadi was voted onto the Chosewood Park CDC Board of Directors and was appointed secretary for the CDC.

 

BeltLine Romance

Congratulations to our Planner Matt Cherry, who was recently engaged to Anna Swinson, Conservation Organizer for The Sierra Club.  Matt and Anna met while working on the Beltline Project!

All in the family

Urban Collage welcomes Jack Morgan McHugh, who was recently born to Rosa McHugh, our Director of Business Development.  Jack is the McHugh's second son.

 

 

 

 

BeltLine Project Moves Forward

The Atlanta City Council, the Atlanta School Board and the Fulton County Commission all voted to approve the creation of the Beltline Tax Allocation District (TAD). The TAD will be the primary source of funding for the Beltline, a 22 mile loop of transit, parks and new development.  TAD funds have already proven to be fruitful – on January 10th the City of Altanta announced that TAD funds will be used to convert the Bellwood Quarry in Northwest Atlanta into the City’s newest and largest park, the 351-acre Westside Park. 

Imagine Downtown Building Boom

Following the Imagine Downtown Plan prepared by Urban Collage, Downtown Atlanta continues to see a renaissance.  Major investments in the Centennial Hill area include the construction of the Allen Plaza Complex which will house offices, condos, apartments, retail.  Also, currently under construction is Twelve Centennial a 1,034 unit residential condo/ hotel.   Major Infrastructure improvements include the completed Ivan Allen Boulevard and the Simpson-West Peachtree Streetscape currently under design.

 

Jesse Jackson Town Homes Seniors Component Receives Tax Credit

The Greenville Housing Authority (GHA) and the Communities Group (TCG) are moving forward with the development of the Jesse Jackson Townhomes (JJT) senior’s component, Charleston Place.  The JJT development is a component of the overall Nicholtown Master Plan developed by Urban Collage, Inc. in 2004.
