CITY OF WOODSTOCK MUNICIPAL COMPLEX - Woodstock, GA Urban Collage is working in association with the architecture firm BRPH, a Marietta based architecture firm, to program the future City of Woodstock Municipal Complex. The potential complex consists of a New City Hall facility, Police Department and the associated City Council and Court facilities. The city administration is striving to take a proactive approach to reinforcing its historic downtown arear through careful planning, design, and integration of needed city administration and services space. The programming effort will help the City to establish a vision, budget and schedule for a complex that will serve the City for the next 30-50 years. EASTERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY - Richmond, KY Urban Collage is working as part of a team lead by Perkins+Will to develop a comprehensive campus master plan for EKU. Work includes analysis of existing space utilization, future development opportunities, emerging student housing choice, unifying public spaces, and a new South Campus for this expanding Institution. EAST END NEIGHBORHOOD - Lexington, KY Urban Collage is supporting work to create a revitalization plan for the historic East End Neighborhood. A diverse neighborhood originally home to professionals, entertainers, and even some of the first African-American jockeys. Plans will center on balancing affordability while creating new investment, including plans for a rejuvenated Third Street Corridor. Efforts will include documenting planned urban design improvements and key catalytic development projects. NORCROSS LCI - Norcross, GA Urban Collage was recently awarded its 22nd LCI Project, located in a historic railroad town just off the I-85 corridor. Norcross represents a combination of Old Atlanta - the historic Depot and small town center - with the new - long corridors lined with strip retail - and seeks a development plan that provides an intelligent vision for both. Urban Collage leads the team with JJ&G and Bleakly Advisory Group to create a roadmap to the future of one of the metro area's hidden gems. DAHLONEGA DOWNTOWN PLAN - Dahlonega, GA Urban Collage is leading a team comprised of PBS&J and Bleakly Advisory Group to prepare a 10-year development master plan for the future of downtown Dahlonega. Recognized as the Jewel of the Georgia Mountains and surrounded by lush forests, the Appalachian Trail and vineyards, Dahlonega’ Public Square is noted for its 1836 courthouse, the oldest surviving in the state. Nearby Price Hall on the campus of North Georgia College marks the site of the U.S. Mint which was erected during the county’s first Gold Rush. The team will be investigating ways that allow the downtown to grow without sacrificing its unique character and valuable historic resources. NORTH FULTON CID - Metro Atlanta, GA Urban Collage, Inc. has been retained by the North Fulton Community Improvement District (CID) to develop a master plan for the GA 400 commercial corridor in North Fulton County. The plan will create a cohesive vision for growth and development, catalyze quality of life improvements and provide direction for CID initiatives and expenditures over the next five years. LEXINGTON SOUTHEND DESIGN GUIDELINES - Lexington, KY Urban Collage, Inc. was recently hired by EHI Consultants on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government to work on the next phase of design guidelines for Downtown Lexington's Southend Park neighborhood. This next phase involves the development of construction documents for a varity of housing prototypes. Urban Collage concluded the first phase of work for the neighborhood in Spring of 2006, which included the creation of pattern book to guide future redevelopment of the neighborhood. All of these recommendations will help shape the character of new development along the planned Newtown Pike Extension and guarantee high uality affordable housing options. ATLANTA BELTLINE IMPLEMENTATION - Atlanta, GA Urban Collage is now working with Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. to help further the implementation of Atlanta's unprecedented BeltLine project. This 22 mile loop of planned transit, parks and new development encircling downtown Atlanta currently sits on mostly-abandoned rail right-of-way. Since 2004, Urban Collage has helped to identify and survey the project study area, facilitated many public workshops in affected neighborhoods and generated concepts for "development nodes" around the BeltLine. CONTINUED WORK IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR... Urban Collage continues to provide planning and design services for various private development corporations including Morsberger Development Group, Centex Homes, New Urban Solutions, H.J. Russell, Cousins Properties, Tramell Crow Residential, and The Milestone Group. |
