Bluegrass Community and Technical College Newtown Pike Campus Plan

Urban Collage is part of a team lead by EOP Architects that is designing the new main campus of Bluegrass Community and Technical College at the former Eastern State Mental Hospital site just northwest of Downtown Lexington. The new campus for over 8,000 students is seen as a key economic catalyst for the continued revitalization of the area.  Recently, a series of stakeholder and public meetings were held on this important project and the attached article describes the overall efforts.

Gonzales Gardens Revitalization Plans Emerge

A charrette, lead by Urban Collage, was held April 29-30 to redesign the third oldest housing development in the nation, Gonzales Gardens, in Columbia, South Carolina. The redevelopment plan, driven by public input, will include a mixed income development, additional parks and open space and walkable neighborhood commercial services.  Click here to read the article.

Blueprint North Fulton Moves Forward

A recent article highlighting the progress of the North Fulton Community Improvement District (CID) was featured in the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The CID has developed a comprehensive plan, Blueprint North Fulton, to ease congestion, enhance connectivity and support economic development in this fast-growing area. Urban Collage is leading work to craft an overall vision, a priority list of transportation projects and an implementation strategy to accomplish the aggressive program of improvements.

Red Mile development plan moves forward

Urban Collage has been retained by owners of The Red Mile, the second oldest harness racing track in the country, to plan for potential real estate development in support of the track operations.  Preliminary plans call for a mixed use destination of retail, office and residential focused on new public open space.  An innovative process for public consideration of the development plan has been launched by the Lexington-Fayette County Planning Commission.  More information can be found here.

Braselton public workshop featured in Braselton New Today

A public workshop on March 6th lead by Urban Collage was featured in the Braselton New Today.  The plan will focus on the towns’ growth management policies and promoting a strong design character in the town’s historic downtown and the Chateau Elan activity area.  The article quotes Associate Principal Eric Bosman and outlines what happened at the meeting and next steps in the comprehensive plan process.  Click here to view the article.
